YPAC is an artistic hub in Uptown Yucaipa and our goal is to engage, educate, and provide outstanding arts education programing to our community at large. We are developing a variety of educational opportunities that will be offered for all ages. These will include lessons, workshops, and master classes with local and national educators. Stay tuned!

Young Artist’s Academy

Each week the Young Artist’s Academy explores the Elements of Art, through the study of many diverse artists’ works, while also being introduced to different techniques using a variety of art mediums. Each session includes a directed lesson, with all supplies included. The young artist walks away with confidence, a unique experience, and a self-produced masterpiece.

Youth Classical Music Academy- Come Sing with Me!

Mondays 4pm (Ages 5-9) OR 5:15pm (Ages 10-17)

These weekly voice classes are geared towards children ages 5 – 17 years old. We will focus on learning how to sing with our healthy and beautiful voices through classical technique by learning songs appropriate for the voice and age. We will also learn how to read music, solfège, rhythms, and quality vocal exercises and learn through our imagination by listening and feeling the sounds we hear. These classes may provide performing opportunities at our community and city events throughout the year.
Youth classes are every Monday at 4pm and 5:15pm; All classes are taught by Opera singer, Aneta Augustyn.

Ages 10-17: 5:15pm-6:15pm
Ages 18+: 7pm-8pm

Hula Classes

Learn the art of hula dancing!  Instructor Jennifer Stegall will teach the basic steps of hula dance. Learn dances from some of the Hula masters. Hawaiian words, culture, and tradition are an integral part of the class. No experience needed! Pa’u skirts required (loaners available upon request).

Fees for all classes:

  • Youth (6-10 y/o) – $30.00
  • Adults (11-54 y/o) – $40.00

Acting Classes

Students will learn the fundamentals of acting. Participating in acting exercises develop confidence and creativity. Adults and children will learn to project their voices which, in return, will help them become excellent public speakers. Students will explore expressing their emotions through different characters while having a great time with improvisation and group activities.

Adult and youth acting classes will be held at the Yucaipa Performing Arts Center.

Scholarship Assistance Program Application

The City of Yucaipa has received federal Community Development Block Grant funding to provide financial assistance to Yucaipa youth and seniors. The program provides low and moderate-income families, who live in Yucaipa, the opportunity to apply for a scholarship for children 17 years of age and under and Seniors 55 years of age and over. Scholarships may be used to register youth and seniors for City sponsored activities at the Yucaipa Community Center, Scherer Community Center, and Yucaipa Performing Arts Center. Filling out this application does not guarantee a scholarship.
