YPAC is an artistic hub in Uptown Yucaipa and our goal is to engage, educate, and provide outstanding arts education programing to our community at large. We are developing a variety of educational opportunities that will be offered for all ages. These will include lessons, workshops, and master classes with local and national educators. Stay tuned!

Children

Beginning Theater: Frozen

Featuring the songs from Frozen, this is a fun workshop that will teach students about theater, building their communication and self-confidence skills. This is a 2-week session, Monday-Friday, Jul 26 – Aug 6, from 4-8pm. The students will perform for family and friends at the end of the session at the YPAC Indoor Theater!

Young Artist’s Academy

$40 for 4 Classes – 4pm OR 6pm

Class One – Tuesday, July 6

Artists will explore the Color Wheel. After viewing a presentation, Artists will identify and create a color wheel “eyeball” using paints to define Primary, Secondary, and Complimentary Colors, as well as Warm and Cool Colors.

Class Two – Tuesday, July 13

Artists will study Impressionism and the works of Vincent Van Gogh. Artists will then create a Starry Night inspired piece using Baby Oil and Oil Pastels.

Class Three – Tuesday, July 20

Artists will study Impressionism and the works of Vincent Van Gogh. Artists will then create a Starry Night inspired piece using Baby Oil and Oil Pastels.

Class Four – Tuesday, July 27

Artists will explore and be instructed on One Point Perspective. Artists will Then create a mixed media piece depicting the Desert, using sharpies, markers, and crayons.

Teen

Yucaipa Rockin’ Youth Studio

The Yucaipa Youth Rockin’ Studio is a music program for youth between the ages of 11 and 17.

This program will provide instruction in drums, guitar, keyboard, and vocals. Participants must bring their own instruments to prevent sharing.

The mission of this program is to foster creativity, teamwork, responsibility, and public service within the context of a contemporary music program.

Private Lessons

Concentrated Private Lessons dedicated to the fundamentals of vocals, guitar, and drums. This class is intended for beginning and intermediate level students. Students must provide their own instruments and wear a face covering at all times. For ages 11-17.

Session One – Thursday, July 1 – 6:30pm-8:00pm

Scholarship Assistance Program Application

The City of Yucaipa has received federal Community Development Block Grant funding to provide financial assistance to Yucaipa youth and seniors. The program provides low and moderate-income families, who live in Yucaipa, the opportunity to apply for a scholarship for children 17 years of age and under and Seniors 55 years of age and over. Scholarships may be used to register youth and seniors for City sponsored activities at the Yucaipa Community Center, Scherer Community Center, and Yucaipa Performing Arts Center. Filling out this application does not guarantee a scholarship.
