YPAC Presents Date Night: Comedy Night

January 19 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm PST

The Yucaipa Performing Arts Center (YPAC) is excited to present Claude Stuart, Camilla Cleese, Christie Campagna, and Barry Neal! BYOB and join us on JANUARY 19th for a hilarious date night event!

Headliner: Claude Stuart

Claude’s credits include “THE TONIGHT SHOW”, “THAT 70S SHOW”, “SCRUBS”, “THE LATE, LATE SHOW”, “LAST COMIC STANDING”, “COMICS UNLEASHED”, COMEDY CENTRAL;  He most recently shot a documentary in Europe with Jimmy Shubert about entertaining our troops, was on this season of ABC’s “AGENT CARTER”, and just filmed a new hour comedy special that will hopefully be released soon!

Feature: Camilla Cleese

Before pursuing comedy, Camilla attended UCSB (occasionally), was a professional equestrian and model. Initially, she was writing comedy, fortunate to work with and learn from her father, John Cleese, and write her way into her first stage show.  Continuing to write, she studied acting and started doing more performing with a sketch comedy group and training in Improv at the UCB and Groundlings.  One of the members of her sketch group – Sarah Tiana – inspired her to start doing stand-up, and before long it became the focal point of her career.

Not long after, Camilla had to go back to Chicago for a family emergency and wound up staying almost a year and a half.   She was grateful to be able to look after her Mom while she continued to hone her stand-up skills. On returning to LA Camilla was invited to perform at the first Cabo Comedy Festival, where she taped her first TV spot for NuVo TV’s Stand Up and Deliver. There, Camilla participated in the March Madness Comedy Competition, where she placed 3rd out of close to 200 entries.  Camilla has appeared at many other comedy festivals, including Ventura Harbor (4th), Laughing Devil (finalist), San Luis Obispo, Laughing Skull, and the San Diego.

Most recently, Camilla performed at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival, her second successful run there.  She appeared on Comedy Central’s @Midnight and America’s Got Talent, where despite receiving four yeses from the judges she did not continue.  She has toured in Australia, Canada, Europe, and the US, where she features for acts like Steve Byrne, and Russell Peters.  She’s a paid regular at Laugh Factory, Improv,  and Comedy and Magic Club.

Guest Spot: Christie Campagna

Christie Campagna is a single mother of two originally from Cleveland, OH. She moved to Los Angeles in 2000 to chase her dreams but quickly found herself chasing toddlers. She struggles with OCD, ADD and all acronyms ending in D. Her fast-talking, awkward pauses, and slow burns delivered in a quirky, deadpan style will leave you asking questions later. She performs all over LA and Orange County and has most recently been seen at The Comedy Store, Flappers Comedy Club and Laugh Factory. Christie works for Life Alert during the day so when she’s not doing Stand Up….she HELPS people stand up!

MC: Barry Neal

Barry’s beginnings were unusual. After graduating from Northwestern University and completing a successful run in the famous Mee-Ow show (who’s celebrity members have included Julia Louis Dreyfus, Dermot Mulroney, George Newborn, Craig Bierko, Seth Meyers, and Ana Gasteyer), his brother dared him to go on stage at an open mic to do a routine. Barry was hit that night and knew that stand-up comedy was his next mountain to climb.

Barry learned from the best comedians in the country. Jerry Seinfeld was a regular. He watched people like Bill Maher, Ellen Degeneres, Paul Reiser, and Tim Allen just to name a few. Barry learned by not only watching these comics but by being a good listener when these comics would talk about comedy.

Barry’s style is clean, high energy, and relationship material was a hit in almost every market. He quickly moved up the comedy ladder and was on cable and network tv, from MTV, NBC, Comedy Central, and VH-1. Barry’s act was noticed by a production company that loved his Counselor of Love persona, and his act is currently being shopped as a sitcom called The Counselor of Love that Barry wrote along with his partner Dan Patterson, who was the creator and executive producer of Who’s Line Is It Anyway?
